A developer is scoping-out the possibility of 325 homes and sports pitches adjacent to our site. This would include the meadow on the left as you come up Main Drive and all of the fields behind and at the side of the old touring caravan field.
A few weeks ago we told you that they had asked Basildon Council if they needed an Environmental EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment). An EIA is where the developer has to justify the impact their plans might have on the environment.
Unfortunately, Basildon have decided that an EIA is not required because they consider the proposed development would not contribute to significant environmental effects.

Next step is, the developer will need to submit a formal planning application and at that stage we’ll all be able to have a say.
