As you know we didn't have sufficient nominations to go to the AGM next week and form a committee. Therefore to avoid the Association being dissolved at that meeting, I reopened nominations and the extended deadline passed on Friday 28th February.
I'm pleased to say that some members that previously said they wouldn’t be standing have now agreed to stand to try and save the association.
The full list is below
Gary Peckham
James Hailes
Sheila Hobman
Lynda Gould
Sharon Stapleton
Sheila Mead
Julie Raby
Mick Hilton
Harry Lowther
Kevin Butler
This gives us 10 nominations for the AGM to ratify. We can have a maximum of 10 on the committee.
James and Sheila Hobman have offered to continue in their previous roles as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
The only contested position is Chair where Julie Raby and Gary Peckham have been nominated so will need to undergo a ballot.
These three statutory roles are decided by members at the AGM and all other roles are decided by the new committee at their first committee meeting.
Personally, it was not my intention to stand again but I don't want to see the Association fold after so much hard work.
Julie and myself will prepare statements in regard to our visions for the Association so that members can make an informed decision on the night.
Thanks
Gary
