We know there’s a lot of news flying around right now, but we want to make sure everyone stays fully up to date.

Yesterday (Thursday 30th October), we told the company that the speed and aggression with which they’re rolling out their new system is causing serious anxiety, mental health concerns, and distress for residents. We made it clear there’s no need to rush, and that the changeover should be paused until a court has ruled on whether it’s lawful. If a court finds everything is in order, we’d support a more measured and respectful rollout.

Regency Living refused to pause - so we got straight to work on the legal paperwork.

We submitted a court application yesterday afternoon, asking for an initial order to pause Regency’s process until the case is heard. We’ll let you know the moment we hear back.

Separately, we know some residents are unsure about whether to sign up with Calor. You say you fully support the RA but don't want to be left without gas.

They’re holding a session in the hall this morning, and another one on 12th November. Personally, we’re waiting until we hear back from the court. If needed, we can still sign up on the 12th - so there’s time. I’ll also speak to the Calor reps this morning to see if there are other ways to join (perhaps by phone or online), so people aren’t limited to just those dates.

Finally, the behaviour and attitude of Regency Living over the past few weeks has been nothing short of disgraceful. We will be raising these matters with the council’s licensing department, with particular reference to their continued suitability under the Fit and Proper Person criteria. This is not the relationship we sought with the site operator - but their pattern of intimidation and disregard for residents’ rights and views cannot go unchallenged.

As always, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
